This Privacy Policy explains how International Chess ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Android mobile application (com.internationalChess).

1. Information We Collect

• Display name: A name you choose in app settings (for example, your player name in games).
• Account identifier: A Firebase anonymous user ID used for online play and matchmaking.
• Gameplay data: Online game state, moves, room codes, matchmaking status, and player presence while you play online.
• Device and app data: Basic technical data needed for app functionality, crash diagnostics, and security.
• Advertising data: If ads are shown, Google AdMob may collect advertising identifiers and related usage data to serve and measure ads.

2. How We Use Information

• Provide offline, computer, and online chess gameplay
• Match players, create/join rooms, and sync online games in real time
• Save your preferences such as theme, board style, and display name
• Show ads through Google AdMob on non-game screens
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve app performance

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services that may process data according to their own policies:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, Firestore) — Firebase Privacy
• Google AdMob (advertising) — Google Privacy Policy
• Google Play Services — required for Android app services

4. Advertising

International Chess may display banner and full-screen ads on non-game screens such as the home screen and navigation flows. Ads are not shown during active gameplay. AdMob may use the Android Advertising ID to deliver and measure ads.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with service providers needed to operate the app (such as Google Firebase and Google AdMob), when required by law, or to protect users and the service.

6. Data Retention

Online game and lobby data is retained only as long as needed to provide gameplay and related services. Local app preferences are stored on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app.

7. Your Choices

• You can change your display name in app settings.
• You can reset advertising identifiers in your Android device settings.
• You can uninstall the app to remove locally stored preferences.

8. Children's Privacy

International Chess is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
